A friend and I once made up a drinking version of the classic Monopoly game one bored evening. It went on to become a Leed Uni smash…well Boddington Hall anyway – I recently found the rules in an old folder….
Basic Penalties
- To join game – 2 shots
- Amble past “Go” (Depart [see French rules]) – 2 shots
- Land on “Go” – 2 shots
- Land on community chest or chance – 1 shot
- Land on Mayfair (Rux de la Paix [see French rules]) – 2 shots
- Buy Mayfair (Rue de la Paix) – 3 shots
- Go to jail – 2 shots (3 to leave immediately)
- Roll a double – 1 shot
- Land on “Free Parking” – 2 shots
- If fined – 1 shot / £100 (rounded up)
Advanced Penalties
- If point or call player by name – 1 shot
- If land on Coventry Street and can’t talk about the weather for 1 turn – 2 shots
- If land on Bow Street (Bob St) and can’t apple bob 1 bite – 2 shots
- If land on Piccadilly (and can’t do the dilly picked) – 2 shots
- Land on Station -do chorus of G’ding G’ding, if not – 3 shots
- Appreciation of a drinking feat – 1 shot for everyone
- Misconduct (as determined by game organiser/s) – 1 shot per offence
- Unauthorised standing up – 1 shot
French Penalties
- When roll a 6 on either die, then must say “uhuhuhouh” in french accent before doing anything else – 2 shots
- At the end of each turn, an onion “l’oignon de companionship” must be passed onto the next team – 2 shots
- All spoken street names must be the french version, unless not labelled i.e. Piccadilly etc – 2 shots
- All printed words on board, must be pronounced in french accent – 1 shot
- If any paper labels come off the board due to a person – 2 shots
